Elaine Kingett is an award-winning writer, journalist, teacher and writing mentor. She started her journalistic career on Honey magazine in the 70s, after a BA Hons Fashion at Hornsey College of Art and has written for The Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian, That’s Not My Age, Woman&Home, Prima and Archivist. She has an MA in Professional Writing from UCF, has studied Autobiographical Creative Writing at University of Sussex, Therapeutic, Reflective Writing and Poetry Therapy with The Professional Writing Academy and counselling skills at City Lit. She has studied mindfulness meditation in Nepal and London.

In 2011 she started Write It Down! which runs writing workshops with mindfulness meditation and writing, walking and mediation retreats. These encourage everyone, irrespective of previous writing skills or academic achievement, to write down their life in a notebook, for personal therapy and to leave a sociological record for future generations.

She is a member of Lapidus International - Words For Wellbeing , The National Association of Writers In Education, Women in Journalism, an affiliate of Write As Rain and is a Hoffman graduate.
